Aidan Sezer crossed under the posts, and Tom Briscoe finished smartly in the corner to give the Black and Whites an 18-6 lead at the break.
Castleford’s Innes Senior was shown a yellow card for a high tackle on Cade Cust, who was forced off with an injury. Hull FC immediately capitalised, with Lewis Martin going over in the resulting play.
Sezer added a penalty to put the game beyond reach, though the hosts hit back late on. Former Hull FC player Tex Hoy produced a superb solo try before Josh Simm touched down, but it was little more than a consolation.
The win means Hull FC have now taken four victories from their opening six games, sitting second in the table behind unbeaten city rivals Hull KR. In contrast, Castleford have suffered five defeats in their first six matches.
Briscoe’s try shortly before half-time proved a turning point. Castleford’s Daniel Okoro was penalised for an infringement close to Hull FC’s try-line, but skipper Sam Wood opted not to challenge the decision. This would prove to be a costly call, as moments later, Hull FC stretched their lead to 12 points.

Ese'ese, who had just signed a new three-year deal before kick-off, celebrated in style with a powerful finish, brushing off three Castleford defenders to put John Cartwright’s side in front.
Castleford had made a promising start, drawing level when Milnes finished off a slick passing move, but Hull FC soon took control. Briscoe’s break set up Sezer’s first try of the season before the winger got on the scoresheet himself, latching onto a brilliant cut-out pass from Cust.

Cust’s night ended early after a high tackle from Senior, which rules him out of next week's Challenge Cup quarter-final against Hull KR.
Martin’s 11th try of the season stretched Hull FC’s advantage before Sezer’s penalty added further breathing room, despite the visitors being briefly reduced to 12 men when Amir Burough was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle.
Castleford’s late rally gave their fans something to cheer, but the contest was already settled. Hull FC now shift their focus to next week’s derby, while Castleford, recently knocked out of the Challenge Cup by Championship side Bradford, have over a fortnight to regroup before their next game against Leigh on 12 April.
