Pace bowler Brydon Carse has been removed from England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan 

This is amid an ongoing investigation into an incident that led to him being briefly arrested.

Carse was part of the England squad for the first Test against Pakistan, which the hosts won by an innings inside three days at Headingley.

After being left out of the starting XI, Carse was released to play for Durham against Derbyshire, with the Division Two leaders securing victory on Saturday evening.

After the win, Carse was filmed in handcuffs outside a bar in Derby. The incident took place less than 48 hours before he was due to arrive in London to join the rest of the England squad for the second Test at Lord's.

Carse's Durham team-mate Matthew Potts also appeared in the footage, while former England captain Ben Stokes could be seen in the background. Although Stokes has retired from international cricket, he remains under a central contract with the ECB, as do Potts and Carse.

More chaos for England and their players

In June, Stokes and Gus Atkinson were at a London nightclub when a member of England's security team was struck by a Saracens rugby player.

Both missed the second Test against New Zealand while the incident was investigated, before eventually receiving written warnings over their conduct.

Stokes and Atkinson had breached an England team curfew introduced after a series of late-night incidents during the winter.

Harry Brook was punched by a bouncer outside a nightclub in Wellington, while Ben Duckett was filmed apparently drunk during England's Ashes holiday in Noosa.

After replacing Stokes as England captain, Joe Root began his second spell in charge by scrapping the curfew. Guidelines covering players' alcohol consumption around matches and in public were also relaxed.

On the eve of the first Test against Pakistan, Root urged his players to be "really good role models and good human beings".
