Games Review - Sniper Elite: Resistance
A very fun game, even if it has some flaws

For many people, Sniper Elite: Resistance couldn't have been released at a better time. This is a game that occasionally has the feels of a Hollywood blockbuster.
This is the first spin-off of the Sniper Elite series that doesn’t feature zombies, aiming to capture the magic of Sniper Elite 5 from 2022.
You play as a new recruit working alongside French Resistance characters from Sniper Elite 5 as you explore the countryside. The game feels like an expansion pack, with familiar enemy behaviors and mechanics, but that’s not a downside—Sniper Elite 5 was a significant quality improvement, and Resistance builds on that with engaging environments for long-range sniping and guerrilla warfare.
There are only seven main missions, but they are all large and took me about 90 minutes to complete. The initial exploration of a level usually involves testing various systems to discover possible routes, determining the easiest paths to navigate, and identifying preferred vantage points.
What can be expected from the Nintendo Switch 2?
The extra modes offer more to do after you've completed the campaign. There's a horde mode in Survival where you try to protect your headquarters from waves of enemies, Propaganda has scenarios set on the maps you've already played, but you can play as different characters and complete new challenges, and there's a multiplayer mode for sniping.
All of these are good ways to add more fun to Resistance, but the standout is Invasion, which debuted with Sniper Elite 5. Axis snipers can be dropped into another player's campaign to stalk and hunt them. As with many stealth games, Resistance is about learning patterns and exploiting them. However, as the sniper hunting them, you must also think creatively.
Ultimately, there is plenty to keep you occupied here in, and despite some frustrations, it was a lot of fun and got us hooked throughout our first playthrough.
The final verdict of this game
This game offers pure, enjoyable escapism. It will undoubtedly delight and excite fans of the Sniper Elite franchise while also serving as an excellent introduction for newcomers. Additionally, it sets the stage well for the upcoming Sniper Elite 6.
We'd like to give this game 7.5 out of 10. We're already excited for the next game in a series that is developing something of a cult following.
