Sandy Baltimore struck twice, while substitute Catarina Macario added a third, capping off a remarkable first season in charge for Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor.

Among those watching from the stands was Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, newly appointed to the club’s board. He attended the final alongside his wife, Serena Williams, following the announcement of a £20 million investment.
Baltimore opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Erin Cuthbert was caught by a high boot from Celin Bizet. The goal came as Chelsea began to take control, with Mayra Ramirez and Aggie Beever-Jones having already threatened the United defence.

Macario, introduced in the second half, made sure of the result with a powerful header. Baltimore then sealed the win in stoppage time, finishing from close range to add her second of the afternoon.
United, last year’s FA Cup winners, started brightly but were unable to turn their early pressure into clear chances. They failed to seriously test Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton and gradually lost their grip on the game.

This was United’s third straight appearance in the final, but they were unable to find a response once behind and struggled to assert themselves as the match wore on.
Chelsea had already clinched a sixth consecutive Women’s Super League title in April and had lifted the Women’s League Cup after beating Manchester City. This Treble is their first since 2021, achieved during Emma Hayes' tenure, and continues their dominance over United, with 14 wins in the last 16 meetings.
