Jack Broadbent opened the scoring for the Robins following a lapse in Warrington’s defence, but Dan Russell responded quickly with a try for the visitors. From there, Hull KR began to assert control. Tom Davies and Mikey Lewis crossed the line before half-time, while Joe Burgess added another try after the break to strengthen the home side’s position.

Tyrone May’s score took the Robins 18 points clear and, although Josh Thewlis replied for Warrington to briefly narrow the margin, Davies’ second of the evening and a bold last-minute drop goal from Lewis confirmed a comfortable victory.

The result maintains Hull KR’s impressive momentum in the 2025 campaign and gives them breathing space at the top of the table, with second-placed Wigan Warriors not in action until Saturday’s clash with Catalans Dragons.

Warrington, in contrast, found little rhythm once the hosts took the lead. Despite their early response to Broadbent’s try, they struggled to match Hull KR’s intensity and creativity. Thewlis’ early conversion briefly gave them a lead, but a clever offload from Jez Litten allowed May to float a pinpoint pass to Davies for the home side’s second try.

On his 100th Super League appearance, Lewis added a third, shrugging off a challenge and twisting over the line for his 10th try of the season. Burgess then acrobatically finished in the corner, with the video referee confirming no touchline infringement.

May’s try came from a slick crossfield move, with Peta Hiku and Arthur Mourgue combining before May powered over. Although Thewlis quickly responded and converted his own try to reduce the deficit, it proved a brief reprieve. Davies’ flying finish in the corner and Lewis’ audacious drop goal sealed the result.

Sam Burgess’ Warrington will hope to respond when these two sides meet again in the Challenge Cup final in just over a fortnight. For now, though, Hull KR look every bit like serious contenders, having lost only once in all competitions this season.
