Are you still on the fence about buying the new console?

The Nintendo Switch 2 offers backwards compatibility, which means you can keep playing your collection of Switch 1 games. However, you’re likely more excited to explore the new features and titles for the console.

Currently, the launch lineup for the Switch 2 is impressive. While there may be only a few first-party Nintendo games available, the excitement surrounding Mario Kart World alone makes it a worthy purchase on day one.

A closer look at some of the launch titles

Mario Kart World is the first major exclusive title for the Switch 2 and the first completely new Mario Kart game since 2014, excluding the mobile version. While it will be challenging to surpass the success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the new game seeks to achieve this by introducing a vast open world for players to explore and drive through.

Street Fighter 6 continues to thrive among fighting game enthusiasts, and now Nintendo owners can also participate thanks to online cross-play. The standard version is priced at £34.99, but for an additional £15, you can get a version that includes all of the DLC characters.

Hitman World Of Assassination – Signature Edition will be the optimal Hitman experience for Nintendo owners going forward. This will compile all the content from IO Interactive’s modern Hitman trilogy alongside a brand new roguelike mode.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 is hopefully a sign of new game types on the Switch 2. The Switch 2’s mouse controls make it an ideal fit for the new console.  For those that already own the game on Switch 1, you can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for £8.99.
