Could this finally be Hull KR’s moment?

After decades of disappointment, near misses and painful defeats in major finals, the chance to end 40 years of hurt feels closer than ever. This time, surely?
On paper, it seems straightforward. A side in form, with momentum and a settled squad, up against an opponent struggling and potentially missing a key playmaker. It ought to point towards a comfortable afternoon at Wembley. But this is Hull KR in a major final, and nothing is ever quite that simple.

That said, their performances this season, coupled with the way they’ve handled the build-up from the semi-final to now, suggest they are as well-prepared as ever. Expect it to be finely poised for the best part of an hour. Then, as they so often do, Hull KR may find the extra gear. They’re fit, they’re disciplined, and in the closing stages, they have the tools to finish the job.
Could Warrington cause a huge shock and bring the trophy home?

Warrington will up their game, given the occasion, and having George Williams back is obviously a huge boost, but they are really struggling for any level of consistency and form at the moment. They were also thrashed by KR a couple of weeks ago.
All that being said, strange things can often at Wembley. Every single Warrington player will have to be at their best. The fans will need to be behind them. If they some early points on the scoreboard, KR’s lack of experience of winning trophies might start to become a factor.
